Slot Machine Strategies and Cheats: Bankroll Management
Slot Machine Cheats
Welcome to the special slot machine strategies series called Slot Machine Cheats. The topic of this article is money management.
Slot Machine Cheat - Manage your slot machine bankroll
It happens to everyone: You are on a losing streak. You "know" you are going to win sooner or later. You keep chasing your losses. You are getting madder and madder at the damned slot machine. Six, seven, eight consecutive losses and more! What, the damned thing must be rigged! But you keep on pulling the lever. Before you know it, your whole bankroll is gone.
A second scenario is just as familiar: You have been playing slots for a while. You suddenly hit it big. You are up by twice your bankroll! Wow! Great! An inner voice tells you call it a night, but noooooo.... you tell yourself, "Hey, I've been lucky. One more spin won't hurt me." Or so you think. You lose. You think, "Wait, I can't quit without getting that one loss back." So you chase it and you lose again, and again…
Yet another victim of the one-armed bandit.
Sounds familiar, doesn't it? That is the seductive quality of gambling. If you lose, you want to keep playing so you can get back what you lost. If you win, you want to keep playing because you have this crazy notion that it is your night and you cannot lose.
To avoid such a disaster as illustrated above, you have to do two things: control your losses and control your wins. They are two sides of the same coin. What you really should do is manage your bankroll properly.
Controlling losses: You control your losses by limiting the amount of money you bring to the slot machines. As we explained in the Low Rollers' Slot Machine Strategy, the bankroll should be good for 400 coins. You can change that if you are using another slot playing system, but no matter what your total bankroll is, you must sub-divide it into smaller bankrolls for each playing session. You must promise yourself to use only one session bankroll at a time and not touch the others. You must keep that promise no matter what. In this way, you only risk a small portion of your total gambling budget.
Controlling wins: All sound slot machine strategies ought to have set rules for handling winnings. For example, you can set a target profit. It must be realistic enough compared to your session bankroll. Once you reach your goal, quit the slot machine at once. No ifs, no buts. Say your goal is to make a 50% profit. You hit that goal and STOP PLAYING.
Another way to control your slot machine winnings is to "freeze" profits whenever they get big enough. Put away your winnings plus a portion of your session bankroll. Do not play with them again.
These slot machine strategies take discipline to apply. This is why ordinary gamblers are losers. But why be ordinary…?
